# Just Dying turns Spanish-speaking streamers into roguelite heroes, after an algorithm eats their entire audience

### After more than ten years in the games industry, a Spanish developer launches a 2D survivor built entirely alone, out November 4. Streamers OnlyRoguelikes, Orslok and Menos Trece have already signed off on their in-game characters. Play as parodies of the biggest Spanish-language streamers and fight to get your own subscribers back. Free demo available now on Steam.

**SPAIN, {{SEND DATE}}, 2026** — It happened on a Tuesday, in the middle of prime time. The viewer counter went from 120,000 to zero in a single blink. It wasn't the router. It was the audience: millions of minds dragged through the fiber optic cable by an entity born in the deep web, one that worked out the most valuable currency in the universe isn't money. It's attention.

That's the opening premise of **Just Dying**, the debut game from **Toloko Games**, built single-handedly by Cristian Osorno in Spain. It arrives on PC via Steam on **November 4, 2026**, and a **free demo is available now**.

## No viewers, no existence

Just Dying is built on an uncomfortable idea: **a streamer only exists while someone is watching**. With no audience, the game's characters begin to suffer what the in-game codex calls Ontological Desynchronization. Their hands turn translucent. Their voices lose their echo. They don't die — reality simply forgets they were ever there.

So they jump into the portal. Not out of heroism, but because with no audience the show gets cancelled permanently.

Rescued subscribers don't go in your pocket. They orbit you like will-o'-the-wisps and get invested in the Atlas, a hundred-node tree of permanent upgrades. Trading away the people you came to save is, literally, the game's economy.

## Signed off by the streamers themselves

Parodying real people means doing things in a specific order: talk to them first, publish second.
Three of the streamers represented in the game have already seen and approved their playable versions.

**Gerier (OnlyRoguelikes)** has approved their character and will take part in the game's campaign with
two pieces, one during Steam Next Fest and another at launch. **Orslok**'s team has signed off on their
version, and **Menos Trece** has confirmed they like the design of theirs.

The rest of the roster is still being contacted.

## Twenty streamers, twenty ways to die

The roster is **20 playable characters**, each a recognizable parody of a real figure from the Spanish-speaking streaming scene, and each with **their own starting weapon and passive**. Turbius heals every time he jumps. La Rata fights dirty. El Yayo takes a beating nobody should survive.

On top of that sit **nearly 30 weapons**, a **rune** system that rewrites your stats, and **relics** that break the rules of a run outright. A run that opens with a clumsy weapon ends as a wrecking ball flooding the screen with projectiles.

## Ten years in the industry, the first game made alone

Just Dying was built by one person. Cristian Osorno has spent more than ten years working in games, and
this is the first one built solo: code, design, art and direction of a roguelite with 20 characters,
nearly 30 weapons and an online mode.

> "I wanted to build a world where streamers are the heroes and have to rescue their own subscribers
> to stay off the unemployment line. After ten years working on other people's games, this is the
> first one that's entirely mine."
>
> — Cristian Osorno, developer of Just Dying

## Learn. Die. Repeat.

Every run is a descent into the Nightmare Realm: a circular map with no invisible walls, bounded instead by a black fog that eats you if you stray too far. Inside there are shrines that dare you, a merchant, chests, and a clock counting down to the boss.

You are going to die. That's the point, and it's in the title. But dying isn't starting over: the subscribers you rescued before you fell get invested in the Atlas, where a hundred nodes hand out damage, evasion, projectiles, luck and a scaling difficulty for anyone who wants it. Every failed run pays for the next one, and the run that ends after eight minutes today lasts twenty two hours from now.

## And for players who want to make it personal

Just Dying includes an **online Versus mode** where two players run their own parallel arena and send each other enemies, bosses and disasters from a deck of cards. You're not competing for points — you're competing to make the other person's run unbearable. The game also ships with **Steam leaderboards**, **achievements** and **cloud saves**.

## About Toloko Games

Toloko Games is the studio of Cristian Osorno, an independent developer based in Spain with more than
ten years of experience in the games industry. Just Dying is the first title built entirely solo:
code, design, art and direction. It's a roguelite that looks Spanish-language streaming culture
straight in the eye, exaggerates it to the point of absurdity, and then turns it into a survival game
where losing is part of the plan.
